Congratulations. What motivated you to study for and take this test? If just for personal enrichment that's totally cool, but I could see it being valuable for employment too.

I just did it for the challenge, also i needed to fill in sometime before the start of the term in ABAC

The poh6 is the highest level Thai exam offered to forigners by the ministry of education. Ive heard of people going on to major in Thai language in university, but im happy with stopping at por6

what is this all about please? is this something compulsory or just for personal develoopment?

never heard of it before ...can u enlighten us please!

I think it's just for personal reasons mainly, as you get a nice certificate from the ministry of education when you pass. Although for people looking to stay on and work in Thailand, i hear it has many advantages if you have passed the exam.

Another point to note, alot of the stuff you learn for the test isn't relevent in everyday conversation. No matter how good your speaking skills are you will still have to learn a lot of new vocab that you will probably never use again after the test, unless you plan to write Thai poetry. There's alot of info at the ministy of education homepage http://bet.obec.go.th/
