Daniel77
If we really think about it, our very survival, even today, depends upon the acts and kindness of so many people. Right from the moment of our birth, we are under the care and kindness of our parents; later in life, when facing the sufferings of disease and old age, we are again dependent on the kindness of others. If at the beginning and end of our lives we depend upon other´s kindness, why then in the middle should we not act kindly toward others? Anyone who considers himself or herself, above all, a member of the human family should develop a kind heart. It is a powerful feeling that we should consciously develop and apply. Insted we often neglect it, particularly in our prime years when we experience a false sense of security. Kindness and compassion are among the principa values that make our lives meaningful. They are a source of lasting happiness and joy. They are the foundation of a good heart, the heart of one who acts out of desire to help others. Through kindness, through affection, through honesty, through truth and justice towards all others, we benefit ourselves as well. This is a matter of common sense. There is no denying that consideration of others worthwile. Our own happiness is inextricably bound up whit the happiness of others. Similarly, if society suffers, we ourselves suffer. Nor is there any denying that the more our hearts and mind are afflicted with ill will, the more miserable we become. I belive that we all to some extent moved by an inability to bear the sight of anothers suffering. It is this that, when we see someone in trouble, stirs some felling in us to go and se if there is anything we can do to help. Moreover, I belive that alongside our natural ability to empathize whit others, we also have a need for other´s kindness, which runs like a thread throughout our whole life. At any given moment there must be hundreds of million of acts of kindness taking place around the world. Although there will undoubtedly be many acts of violence in progress at the same time, these will surely be far few. Perhaps this kind if good news is not remarked upon precisely beacuse there is so much of it. Nevertheless, I greatly appreciate the theme of this book that gathers stories of kindness received when it was most needed and perhaps least expected. I am sure they will inspire everyone who reads them, encouraging each of us to take whatever opportunities arise to be kind to others in turn. And in so doing we will contribute actively to creating a more peaceful, harmonious and friendly world. GoldMember
. Be kind to a traveller and give him/her and good experince and traveller give Him/her a faboulus memorie of being kind. I can remember on a couple of occasions whilst traveling as a teenager and running my budget all the way up until the airport for the trip home.Thing was,i forgot the departure tax.Yet the guys behind me,on both occasions, in the check in Queue ,without even a prompt, were always prepared to pay for me and despite insistence of taking name and address to recompense, absolutely insisted it wasnt necessary. Now when i see folk in similar situations,i always try to help out.True- you never ever forget acts of kindness. On the other hand, some b+stard nicked the frame of my backpack at some guest house off KSR.Evidently the then concept of farangs watching each others backs was taken to an extreme interpretation.
