Randyandy
Hi Guys, I have a kingston Data Traveler II 512MB & use the SecureTraveler software to protect my data. I haven't used this flash drive for over a year and can't remember my password. I need to access it as it contains all my personnal info. hyper223
I'm sure you're already aware of these statements mate.CAUTION! If you forget your privacy zone password, you will no longer be able to access files stored in the privacy zone; you will be required to reformat and reinitialize the privacy zone to regain the original space, thereby losing all the files stored there. This is done to protect the data ? you cannot access it without the password defined by the creator of the privacy zone. Note: If you do not know or remember your password, the only option will be to reformat the DataTraveler II and create a new privacy zone. Warning, all data stored in the previous privacy zone will be lost. See section 4.3 on formatting the DataTraveler II drive. It appears you're buggered unless you can remember the password. You could try googling for a password hacking or data recovery program, but as stated in the literature, if you forget the password... I'll add the obvious: The whole point of an encrypted data device is that you CAN'T access it without the password. That's why you bought it. What you're essentially asking is for someone to tell you that you made a poor purchasing choice in security products, and that there's an easy way to get access to the data that wasn't supposed to be accessible. I don't have any help for you. I just find that part amusing.
