brand new country for mafia?

as we hear from the media, we have the newest country in the world, kosovo.

newest country... pfffffff. it's such a complicated matter. it may look romantic, like an opera show but the people who got the power in the "new country" are heads of organized crime. it's like some part of england with a lot of pakistani population declares itself a new nation with a proeminent drug lord as a prime minister. would that be ok?

there are many european countries with minorities from different ethnic groups but it doesn't mean that we declare new countries every week. this new "kosovo" it's part of the american plan of putting to sleep the old yugoslavian menace. they shattered the old little giant into slovenia, croatia, bosnia and herzegovina, montenegro, macedonia and serbia. probably serbia is still too "big" so here we go cut some more and create kosovo. it's interesting to know that inside serbia there's still some more autonomous province, vojvodina. one more year and we will have another brand new nation.

today we have kosovo with a predominant population of ethnic albanians, with smaller populations of serbs, turks, romani people, goranis, bosniaks, and other ethnic communities. about two million people that will be lead by a government made from albanian mafia guys. these clans were involved in human trafficking, drugs and cigarettes. they (the clans) rule in kosovo for more than 500 years. they follow the dukagjini code, an unwritten code that inspired "cosa nostra ". so actually the u.s. have created a brand new country for one of the most cruel and dangerous mafia organisation of the world. the european union will give few billion euro to kosovo of course. imagine what will happen with this money...

the americans backed up afganistan 30 years ago in the soviet-afghan war. the purpose was to dismantle the ussr. that was good but in the same time americans created "the bin laden".

trying to reduce the power of serbia, the americans create kosovo to control the region. "divide et impera" as the romans were saying. ok, that's not a very big deal. imagine what can happen with a mafia clan that is given a country to rule... can't be very sure what will happen, right?

i hope everything will be ok but the situation is quite tensed as some other real nations didn't approve this new map change. there's a great risk of more secessionist movements in other european states after this kosovo episode.

like it wasn't enough **** in the world, let's do more... at least let's withdraw the swords in a peaceful online dispute and talk about kosovo. i am curious how different people see this matter.

The US did not create Kosovo. Kosovo was created when they moved away from the USSR after the collapse pf their government. Milosovich took control of Kosovo and started the ethnic cleansing.

NATO moved into Kosovo in order to stop the violence. When the violence ended the United Nations came into the picture in an attempt to rebuild the infrastructure. The UN has been there for nearly 10 years.

If you want to give credit for how Kosovo has turned out, blame the UN.

Furthermore, in the eyes of US security officials of all administrations, there was no "old Yugoslavia menace." Tito was recognized for being independent of the USSR despite running a communist state.

There was never a US plan to dismember Yugoslavia. If you believe there was one, prove it. Show some real evidence, not another conspiracy theory.

Yugoslavia was a country patched together. Tito was successful and tamping down the nationalist aspirations of various groups by a combination of stiff measures and fairly giving them some of what they wanted. His successors were not as smart.

Yugoslavia broke up because its own peoples did not want to be part of one state, especially a state dominated by Serbian chauvinists.

i was not blaming for dispaching the old yugoslavia, that was an artificial state anyway. giving credit to the new independent kosovo is the problem.

europe is a multinational aglomeration. some ethnic groups are spread in weird places but that is just the effect of WWI and WWII. after each one the big powers draw the map and played with the life of hundreds of million people. this time the new drawing might trigger important separatist problems al over the old continent.

not mentioning the creation of a new authority that has some serious issues with an old authority, both of them being in an area of religious tensions fed with more than 800 years of conflicts.

i actually blame the countries that imagined this situation and said ok to it. it's not a conspiracy theory. it's a real fact that in my country problems appeared just few hours after the birth of the new state. the first episode will ask for sequels.

the dukagjini code or the "kanuni" is an old set of unwritten laws ruling the highlands of northern Albania. this code introduced the blood feuds that will be taken later as a model by the italians. so the italian word "mafia" defines an italian criminal organization that inspired from an old code of the albanian criminal organization.

can you blame Kosovo for wanting to be separate from Serbia? look at the slaughter of tens of thousands of ethnic Albanians under the regime of Milosvich's Serbian regime. don't you think that their is some deep seated resentment for the Serbs on the part of the Albanians?

Kosovo, under the support of NATO and the UN has developed a fairly decent economy. granted, this may be a false economy. when the UN finally ends the mission there the UN employees and their UN Euros will leave the country, causing businesses that have reaped the benefits of the UN Euros to fold.

the same thing has happened in East Timor. when the UN mission ended there some foreign owned stores remained but were burned out. the UN Dollar left but the prices for products in these foreign owned stores stayed the same. now unemployed Timorese UN employees could not afford to shop at these stores.

the Albanians deserve these benefits after the horrors they suffered under Milosovich. Let them benefit all the way.

i am not taking sides here. the albanians suffered recently that's true but all the way back in history every ethnic group were oppressed by the other one.

milosevic was a madman but the reason to start the atrocities was the previous terror spread by the kosovo liberation army (KLA). its been always a gunpowder barrel in kosovo but now it seems to roll over and threat the exterior.
