England - what has happened.

I have lived ouitside the UK now for about 18 years and whenever i return its generally only for 4 or 5 days to catch up with friends and family.This time i am back for 2 weeks and so spent some time out and about pubs, shopping etc.1) So much obesity and lack of personal pride / appearence in men and women.2) Myself and 2 friends got attacked by 5 men on the way back from a pub on saturday night3) Seems to be more foreigners than english people4) Some Polish man bragged about he and his girlfriend getting 100 pound a week from governement and he had only ever paid 300 pound in taxes.5) Every advert is about suing or getting yourself in to more debt.6) 76,000 people at Old Trafford and no atmosphere.7) All the fish & chip shops have gone and replaced by Japanese, Indian, Polish restaurants.8) No one smiles or laughs anymore. Just seems so sad

Thanks. From now on, whenever anyone in Bangkok asks me why I prefer to live here, and why I do NOT miss England, I will refer them to this journal!! UK and British People have lost all identity. Glad to be out of it. And yes, as a Brit, it is so sad to say that. But, it's just the truth. I just wish they would ban all British tourists from Thailand, and then I would not need to feel ashamed at my fellow countrymen when I sometimes see how they behave over here.

OOO - the suing culture seems to have come from US and now everyone in UK is affected by it. So much debt back home now, so people will do all they can to get money.

Jess - Yes that dos open your eyes and make me realise things could & should be so much better back home

Chris - 1 of my friends is a martial arts instructor, the other an ex cop. I just held the jackets.
