In English "gig" simply means "a job", and is especially used by musicians but not exclusively. It rhymes with "pig".

In Thai, "gig" is a relatively new word...so new that it's not in any dictionaries yet. There have been discussions here on TF before about the Thai meaning of "gig" and while there is some broad agreement, people's specific definitions vary widely. Generally it means a sexual partner with no emotional attachment. It rhymes with "peek".

Maybe u r right, Khun-Lung, about the English version. But I'm not a native English speaker. I remember a song of Pink Floyd on 'dark side of the moon' that is called ' a (great) gig in the sky'.

For the Thai version I completely rely on u and others.
