How to Get Rid of a Hangover

The party's over

and now you're in a regrettable state

--queasy, headachy and miserable.

Alcohol dehydrates your body,

so a hangover is actually a form of mild dehydration.

** Fix It !! **

1. To rehydrate your body, drink water like the fish you were the night before.

2. Eat mild foods, since your stomach right now is quite sensitive. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast or soda crackers (BRAT) are all good options.

3. Check the label before you take a pain reliever to reduce any hangover-induced aches. Some pain relievers, including acetaminophen, aspirin and naproxen sodium, should not be used when alcohol is still in your system.

4. Rest to allow your body to recover from your revelry.

5. If alcohol has affected your relationship with others, your performance at work or your health, you are exhibiting signs of alcoholism. Visit www.alcoholics-anonymous.org to learn more.

** Tips **

Drink lots of water and eat some bread or crackers before going to sleep if you expect to have a hangover in the morning. It may help.

Practice moderation. It's not healthy to drink to the point of dehydrating your body.

** Advance Tips **

Detoxify the Morning After

Have plenty of water, of course, but also B complex vitamins and 20 minutes in a steam shower or very hot bath. The moist heat serves as a vasodilator to help your body rid itself of paraldehyde and other toxins.

A greasy hamburger helps to coat the stomach and seems to help the nausea. If you can manage 2 aspirin before falling asleep, with at least one glass of water and some food, it will help dull the pain in the morning. Definitely drink lots of water and sleep if you can the following day.

Now all TF members will know how to have a good health after parties often!!!

The reason you had a hangover is because the alcohol blood level had dropped suddenly the next day. The best way to remedy this is by fighting fire with fire. You should have a bear or your favorite drink in order to raise the level of alcohol a bit. This will get rid of the hangover immediately. I am very serious.
