experimental fish

Last night I had a late dinner. I was washing dishes and chatting online and on the phone, and suddenly it was almost midnight before I started to make dinner. That's ok. When I'm by myself I usually eat really late... I work on "Spanish time" then :)

So I had a nice large filet of freshwater whitefish, bought from Mennonites, who get it from native fishermen. LOL, the fish has travelled an interesting route to get to me. (Mennonites, Amish, Hutterites are communities of European-descended farmers with their own very strong Christian beliefs, who also do not believe in the use of modern technology. There are various communities dotted around the good farming country of southern Ontario, near Toronto. They still drive around in carriages pulled by horses. On a Sunday if you pass a Mennonite church you'll see literally dozens of carriages with horses parked outside.)

Anyway, I wasn't quite sure how to cook the fish, so I decided to bake it with fresh pomegranate! (Pomegranate = thab thim.) I also threw in a little white wine, some onion and fresh cracked pepper. I had white wine with it, a chardonnay, just a couple of glasses. An excellent dinner :D All I needed afterwards was an espresso and it would have been perfect, but I was all out of coffee :( Well, not really perfect. It would have been much nicer to share my dinner with a certain special someone, candlelight and a wild mix of music ;) (I did have the wild mix of music, but didn't feel much like lighting candles just for myself, and S. is currently off travelling for a little while, until I arrive in BKK.)

After dinner I had to wash some more dishes hahaha....
