We are in agony. I can't remember last time I was in as much pain as this. I had no idea that laser teeth whitening can be this painful.

Last week my boyfriend went to see a dentist for the first time in 20 years. He told me he managed to skip school everytime he knew that doctors were coming. The reason he went this time because he was probably bored of me kept suggesting him to have the dentist check them for once. The funny part is that his teeth are in perfect health - no filling, etc. so he just got it clean. Being so proud that he finally survived a trip to a dental clinic, he picked up a teeth whitening leaflet home and suggested we should give it a try.

Today we got it done, but too bad we are not in the state to go around smiling, showing our whiter teeth to people as now we are home, trying to avoid talking because it is so painful. I feel like having my wisdom tooth taken out every 10 min. I don't know how are we gonna cope within 24 hours.

If you are not ready to take a severe sensitivity on your teeth, don't get it done. It is really painful. My teeth weren't that bad either, I should not have brought this to myself

I am gonna go back to the couch and cry.

what type of whitening procedure did you have

i had mine done last year in-office whitening with laser it's very effective i mean mine was not all that (disgusting) yellow before i had it done lol but my insurance covers dental cosmetic so why not....i wasnt in pain or any thing at all i was just sitting there for 20 mins having this bright laser beemed direct on my teeth....came out nice but since i'm a coffee drinker i also have to use other teeth whitening product to touch up frm time to time...i use gosmile they are awesome =)

How much does this cost in Thailand?

it was laser also - took about one hour in total. my boyfriend is actually ok now but it still very painful for me. going back to the couch to watch dvds....

kitschiguy - the usual price at this clinic would be 11800 baht per person, but we got a deal and it worked out just over 9000 baht each - looking around the internet beforehand this is about normal. much cheaper than england or usa i think! there was actually a article in bangkok post earlier last week about tourists coming over here and getting it done. it was this article which persuade my boyfriend to get it done here. wish he hadn't seen it now!

Let us know how it turns out. I've been tempted to try it, but want to learn from your experience too.

I did that for 2 times..So, i am use to it now..... u will be alright!!!

Khun_lung -> it is noticable good, mine are at least 2 shade whiter. Cannot look at them properly as I am still in pain.

OoO -> Nah I am not afraid of that. Before you will get a little chat with the dentist about how it works. The dentist will only do it to look naturally unless you ask for very white one. Nevertheless, it is also based on the natural color of your teeth enamel.

Jazz - > I am not doing it again. I decided it is not for me. I can't possibly go through this again.

6 hours already, I am still in a lot of pain.
