an optimistic look at haters.....

Well since there has been alot of hater talk recently, I thought I'd put another spin (positive) on the idea of haters. Here are a few reasons (not all) why I think some* haters aren't so bad. I guess you can say I'm a " the glass is half full and there are plenty of waiters" kind of guy. I should preface this by saying, these are just some random thoughts, so take this entry for what it's worth. I could be totally off base here. Now then....

Hate is a strong deep emotion, but so is love. You really have to know someone or have a certain amount of interaction with someone before you can truly hate/love them. So if a so-called hater barely know you and give you 1 star, it's based only skin deep, but more importantly, something about your profile cause intense emotion. When meeting face to face with your hater, there is a possibility that it can transform into intense love. can anyone say slap-kiss! lol.

Haters can get reactions. Let's say someone really really likes another member. After months of sending love messages and voting 5 stars daily, he/she gets nothin, not even a simple response to tell the person they are not interested. As a result, he/she makes a new profile and becomes a hater. Suddenly, the member that never gave you a reaction is now posting in his or her journal/forum about a new hater on their butts (That's positive conditioning for the hater btw.) So in reality, the hater may really just have a big crush on you. Is that so bad?

Let's not forget, sometimes people hate justifiably based on sound reasoning. Let's say you wrote something (intentionally or unintentionally) that offended them, ran over their favorite pet, etc. Remember, there is a variety of people on this site (color, creed, race, sexuality, gender, etc.). If you're the outspoken type, unless you respect diversity, you will have some haters, period.

With all the above said, please don't hate on me. :P

okay, I'm done, but I'll leave you with something to ponder. If everyone just voted 5 stars, it's impossible to have a 'top 5' list unless it was based simply on the number of 5 star votes. In the latter case, the TF newbie would be highly disadvantaged and may never get their "60 seconds in the spotlight." lol.

Just some random thoughts for today. Be nice... :-)

Thats also true Marco ..good to think abt. it..

i think being on the top 5 is a good chance to get 1 star vote..its like a center of attention... based from my past expenrience... once i was there.. i got attacked right away.... now not being there... no more 1 star vote... but not that am looking for it tho...
