So this is it.

After about 20 years of smoking, and smoking now around 40 cigarettes a day, I decided to stop tomorrow.

I tried Zyban (medicine) last year, didn't work much on me, the Allen Carr method ( book ) not very successfull as well.

So, this time, let's try only with will.

Who's crazy enough to follow me ? Smile

Write down how much you are going to save this year, and imagine what you could buy with it.

Maybe a good motivation ?

Not sure I'll success, but I really want to this time

willpower only works sometimes.

imagination beats will power.

i could go into long reasons why,(3 degrees clinical hypnotherapy attained) but will keep it short.

if i put a 20 meter long wooden board on the floor .....1 meter wide , and tell you to walk to the end, without falling off, you can likely do it 1000 times.

as soon as i put it across and between 2 forty story, high rise apartments, and ask you to walk across, you might not even make it one time!

why?

because you will "imagine" you will fall, and that will create the "reality" for you....and you will fall .

your "willpower " will not likely make you quit.

imagination is far more powerfull than willpower.

don't "will" yourself to quit.

don't even imagine you "CAN" quit !!! (that is future tense)

imagine that you HAVE already quit.

willpower acts very much "on the surface" level.

imagination is deeper than that.

(just my opinion)

wishing you luck! ( and yes, i smoke like a chiminey....because i CHOOSE to do so) :-)

Next monday it will be 2 weeks without cig to me (i hope), without any substitutes.. I dont say its been easy, because its far from that. As long as you have something to do its not so hard, but when you stop...! There is one bad thing quiting ...after few days you start to smell how bad world really smells!

>To quit is not difficult but to resist smoking is even harder

Fully agree, I used to stop every day before going to sleep..but..started again next morning :-D

I stopped yesterday, so almost one day without cigarettes.

It's hard but I thought it would be worst.

Thanks all for your support.

40 cigarettes a day!? Man thats just too much! I'm not complaining here but i dont know how cigarettes make you guys addicted to it.. know what i mean. i know a guy who smokes about 4-5 cigarettes a day and i'm still complaining cos i'm the one who is around him. its good you're quitting cos that means you care for yourself and ppl surround you :)
