My much awaited Holiday to Thailand was cut down in its Prime.I got sick in Chiang Mia, was hospitalized released and Hospitalized again. After 8 days and truck loads of pills, drips, Oxygen and open wallet surgery(No holiday insurance[ :-( ]) I decided it was time to return home. I arrived back in Melbourne on the 19 Jan. 10 days short of my intended stay. But it was not all Doom and Gloom. The first 30 day were, Simply the Best I have ever had on Holiday. The people were amazing. I was treated like a VIP where ever I went. I got to see a lot of the REAL Thailand that most tourists would never see. Most were simple farming and working folk, the backbone of any Nation. I was invited to so many parties I will never remember half of them. An Engagement Party, a Wedding, the colour and splendor of which I will never forget. I met a few Past and Present TFers and a lot of non TFers on my travels and they were all wonderful warm loving people I will always be able to recall the sights and sounds of Thailand. Diesel  exhausts barking as trucks, buses and pick ups roar up the highways. The chatter in the market place as everyone tries to compete for your custom. The smell offood cooking at the night markets, and the Hustle and Bustle of BKK. Unbelivable, the first time in my life that I have ever been in a "Pedestrian Traffic Jam".The sights of Thailand are also memorable. The green of the rice paddies, the splendor of the  Temples and the Natural Wonders all go to make up what I will always remember as,

Sorry to hear you were ill. Hope you are ok now!

Yes, Thailand is beautiful (would be nice on a bumper sticker :-) Glad you enjoyed it so much! I guess you are already thinking to return there?
