I just got off the phone with my niece living in San Francisco earlier today. Called her to tell her that I was back from another trip in Thailand Laughing

She has been fighting cancer for many years now, I've been in Hawaii over 4 years now, and she hasn't been able to make it over because of her illness. She was coughing a lot, because the cancer is all over in her body, affecting her lungs, in her liver, and stomach. She hasn't had any chemo treatments for the last few months, because they can't do anything any longer. She said feeling too ill to do anything, and almost bed ridden now. Next week, the people from the hospice will be coming in to evaluate her status.......she is getting all of the necessary things done now and just waiting to be in a better life soon? It was difficult to hear all of this from a loved one that is suffering daily with poor health, and you feel so helpless and can't do anything for them.........we grew up together and have been very close, playing, fighting, school together, and all the past birthday parties.....this is so sad to hear.....Cry

I will fly to San Francisco next week to see her again before it's too late. So sad to think about this now Frown Never take your own health for granted!

Eddie I have always felt sorry for people who suffer from pain and cancer is some thing that can strike any one at any time just like a bus can run us over, except its an agonising type death.

Thats real bad news Eddie and yes I hope for she gets taken to a better place soon with out to much pain,Im not real religous but may the lord take her to a safe and pain free place,I prey for her!

I lost my elder sister for colon cancer about 2 years ago. She suffered for 10 months and really wanted to leave when the pain was too much for her to handle. There was really nothing we could do except being there for her and calm her down, make her feel as good as we could, make her not to worry about her son, etc. Everyone was there untill she passed away and in peace. That all we could do. So my advice is to spend as much time as possible with her.

Do the only thing you can do, Eddie. Be with her for as long as you can. If you have time when you are here, contact me and we can get together for some coffee if you like. My yahoo address is posted and I will give you my number if you e-mail me. Good luck to you and your sister and I will pray for her.
