thuink i have a virus just in my hotmail msn messenger.....keeps sending shitty oddball messages to my contacts. I have antivir guard protection and scans don't find it. Help before i am ostracized!!

First thing to check is the most obvious, make sure your AntiVir database is up to date before doing any scan (I know it's a dumb thing to suggest but I mentioned it just to be sure).

Then try using some additional malware scanners such as SpyBOT, AdAware

If that fails try using some online scanners. They can be slow and most of them only offer detection (although TrendMicro does offer cleaning I believe) :

If that fails then you could download a trial version of an antivirus programme such as Sophos, NOD32, F-Secure, PC-cillin, ZoneAlarm, AVG. Most manufacturers offer a 30 day free trial.

take 2 asprins and go to bed. i find that gets rid of most viruses

i got a good tip from somewhere just for cases like yours. make your first contact some bogus e-mail address such as [email protected] (a usually comes first in an alphabetical system

i was told that if it can't send the first one, it won't send anymore. i also have AVG professional version and it seems to keep me out of trouble most of the time

worm/agent F5 ......feck....spybot not removing it...avira antivir not detecting...
