New Chiang Mai Mayor
http://www.chiangmainews.com/ecmn/viewfa.php?id=1909 Dr. Deuntemduang "I used to drive around town and see things which I would like to fix or have ideas I would like to realise, and now, amazingly, I may have the opportunity to do just that!”
“Chiang Mai is beautiful; like a gentle lady. We have nature, warmth and culture, maybe it’s time to reflect that in its leadership,” she grinned. “I didn’t run a hard campaign, I simply offered myself up as a choice. I think that people were ready for change and I am very grateful that they have given me the opportunity to prove myself. I am not thinking beyond the
next four years. I don’t want to be one of those politicians who compromise themselves and begin lobbying for their ultimate goals. I will do the work; I will put my all into it and let people judge me on my success and failure in four years time.”
“I am a very typical Chiang Mai girl,” she smiled sweetly. “I love eating, spending time with my family and my husband [the guys groan and girls go “awwww…”] when he comes up from Bangkok every weekend, I love travelling to weird and random places and meeting people of all cultures, I love talking, cooking and reading novels. And I am going to love being a mayor!”Nice to see some new talent on the political scene ;o)
