news from Iraqi
straight from the horses mouth and not some leftist media saying we're loosing or should cut tail and run! Tahnkyou to all the brave people fighting for freedom! Hey Paul:
Thanks for you vote of condidence. I have been printing your messages and hanging them up for the guys here just to show them that there are people out there that support them. Anyway, I am traveling south now out of Iraq into Kuwait. It will be nice to have a few days off and some rest, because they have been killing us over the past few weeks. The good news is that things are changing here. We are trying to fight a mobile force so it is like trying to catch water, but the men and women fighting and supporting this war are doing a good job. You can really see the change. I am sure that you have heard about it on the news even if you did not know what you were hearing. Anbar province used to be a hell whole, now it is one of the safest places in Iraq. Bagdad is been where the push has been and the US Army has successfully run most of the terrorist out of Bagdad now. They are all going north east into as CNN says "the volatile diyala province" and some have been going south between bagdad and scania. Recently though there has been a big push by the 82nd Airborne to secure the area between bagdad and Scania and things have gotten a lot safer there. Also most of the fighters down in this area is Shiite fighters that support Iran and Muqtada Al Sadr, they are just active because America is there, but pose no long term threat to the security of Iraq. So most of the real bad guys are up in Diyala around the US bases of Taji and Anaconda, which is just one province and there is a few straglers in Bagdad still.
The US is going to win this war, so prepare yourself and all your liberal buddies for that. The media has not really done a good job of even preparing the American people for that either, to some it may come as a shock. You will not see a surrender, but you will see a day when we start coming home and the numbers get smaller and smaller. Matter of fact I think at least that might have already begun, although it is not officially been, but we are pulling a lot of equipment out of Iraq right now. That could reverse next month, but at least now we are shipping south more equipment than we are pulling north. Plus most of the equipment we are hauling north is loading equipment.
We will see though, my guess is that this move will start happening about 3 months before you start seeing units go home and the numbers start to fall.
Hope you like that news.
John
