I think long distance relationships can work but...

By far the majority of the time... it's just two people (or often just one person) wasting away their life wishing, waiting and hoping. You don't really know someone or know if you love 'HIM/HER (not a fantasy version), until you are together in usual day to day life (not holidays). Until then it's just lust, and dreams.

Good luck though my theory has been proven wrong from time to time.

In most cases I don't think it can work. You need to see, touch, hear a person for real (ie. not via webcam) before you can seriously commit yourself to a relationship. Also, what if you never meet. How long can a virtual relationship last?

Then again, I never tried, so I can't really judge.

ive seen a lot of people waste their precious lives on long distance relationships and never seen one work (end up together and happy). Seems to me that many have them because they cant, wont or not able to have a real, normal relationship and make it work. Most people i know who are in long distance relationships are in some ways dysfunctional. Sad. But ok, each to their own choices in life.

Was in one for a very very long time.. with the best possible girl ever. Now its over, Iv no regrets.... but Iv been a fool in many ways I guess. I dont think LDR has a place in the current societal structure, maybe earlier generations were better suited to it. God bless those who have the courage who try

Are we talking about Virtual one only or including those who have met but live in different country? I'm not so sure since some comment compared LDR with "real/normal relationship"...

To me, since I love my privacy a lot, I dont have problem with LDR under the condition that we can chat online and with help of cell and any technology.. it's easier.. and the impostant part is knowing when to meet again..

Its rather judgmental to look down at people who attempt LDR. It's personal choices. Although, LDR has it's shelf life, it should not take too long for two people to be together, otherwise you are just living in a fantasyland.

I believe anything can work if two people truly love each other, also I think there must be some type of plan for the future together. Meaning you both must live in the same city eventually.

Let's wait and see, my long distance story was just started too.

I will share you later whether it works or not. Anyway, hope it works..

I like the word LONG and i like the word LOVE, not sure how i feel about distance

it works for me now 2 yrs somthing , to be honest i think to stay close together is harder to keep that long apart...but anyway no matter SDR or LDR it can be possible depend how much they both keep in fate ? hang it up there....
