I said it the previous times this was posted on TF, and I'll say it again.

This was not written by "an African kid."

It is at least 40 years old and comes from the US.

It was not nominated by the UN for anything.

It is not even a good poem, and arguably not even a poem at all.

It is a web hoax.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's the truth.

Anile, before old Loburt gets an apoplexy attack out of this one let me explain. The exact same thing was posted on another girl's journal (Lady Orchid) 2 weeks ago. It is not a poem, wasn't nominated by the UN and wasn't written by an african kid. But it's still a nice little jangle to read :)

It was posted yesterday, or the day before, by someone else too.

Apparently, it's been posted on the Thai site MTHAI, and so they all think it's real and are spreading it around.

Actually, it's a pretty racist little jangle.

After all, Black or African kids aren't smart to write "I'm black" instead of "I black" or "you're white" as opposed to "you white"?

It's written in a way that assumes Black or African kids can't speak or write properly, in their own language or English.

It also assumes that their skin is a constant shade of the same color, regardless of fright, exposure to sun, ill health or anything else. And that's just not true.

It's racist.
