Just got reminded of this from another Journal . The case of the missing 100 Baht Ok , lets say you go out for lunch with 2 friends and I am your waiter . The total of the bill is 2500 Baht , so all three of you each give me 1000 Baht , for a total of 3000 Baht I take the money to the cash register and calculate a change of 500 Baht I think about splitting the 500 Baht in 3 , so each of you get an equal share , however its impossible as 500/3 = 166.66 recurring . So I present the change in the form of 5x100 Baht notes . Each of you take 100 Baht and give me a 200 Baht tip ( thank you very much ) . You walk out of the restaurant having each paid 900 Baht ( 1000-100 ) . The total being 2700 Baht for the 3 of you , and adding my 200 Baht tip ; equals 2900 Baht .  However , originally I was given 3000 Baht , so 100 Baht went missing . Where is or who took the missing 100 Baht ???

Hmm......The total for 3 customer is 2800 Baht. Remember the Bill is 2500 baht and everyone took 100 baht (x3 customer) = 300 baht. So, 2500 baht+300 baht = 2800 baht and your tips 200 baht. Total 3000 baht. So, the money never missing. It just your calculation is wrong.

geeezzz .... 2,500 + 200 tip = 2,700 total paid ... balance = 300 baht = 100 baht each.

The above statement is of course misleading , my 200 Baht tip needs to be deducted ( not added ) from the 2700 Baht .

2700-200=2500 Baht ; being the total of the original bill
