Me being a tec freak I gave up and bought a IPOD.  Just to find out that I have to connect to the internet and download Itunes.  As I am writing this it is still downloading and I have yet to see anything great about it so far.  All I know is why shell out all that cash and not have at least a basic start up **** for the program.  I mean what is so hard about putting a mini disk in the box with it.  Unlike most people I connect at the speed of snail where I work at and I cannot download it all at once due to people needing to get online.   But with the little rant done what do yall think about the new IPOD TOUCH?  Is it really worth all the money or am I still better off buying the new Zune when I get back home?

afook06-Credit is such a nice thing. And I had no other choice since that was all that I could get at then moment

also My 30 gig Zune is sitting on my desk in about 12 pieces. (Dropped it getting out of a helicopter)

I like it.

its great for sending and receiving e-mail, when out and about. So much better than trying to download on my Sony phone. Here in London it picks up lots of free wifi networks. Plus I can download things like South Park, to watch.

I guess some people here think you are talking about Macbook or IPhone and not IPod Touch.

I don't have it and can't afford it at the moment, but I am weighing my decision between IPhone and IPod Touch. I think the features that they have are pretty cool. The screen is clear and quality of sound is great. Your music hardly skip and if you use it for some audio books you can play back and forth without any skip as well. Another plus side is IPod Touch is pretty much like a pen drive, which you can drop on the floor and it will still work without problem.

ITunes is kinda complicated to use at first, but once you are used to it, it's easy. You can find your song easily and throwing music in your IPod isn't difficult. You can adjust the title of the song, add genre, select which song/file to skip when the music shuffles, adjust the volumn of the files that you download to be equal to others in your collection... etc.

I might be behind some other cool technology out there, but I find IPod perfect for my usage. I hope you find to like it later, when you are more used to how it works.

You shouldn't buy stuff like that without doing some research and if you decide you do then at least find a place with proper personel. On the box it even says REQUIRES internet connection or something, they don't ship a disch since the second generation of iPod Video and iPod Nano (we're on the third gen right now of these models) so it's been like that for over 2 years or so. Apple products aim at modern times, it is not for nought that you can't buy Apple stuff in India for example. At least it's hard to find there anyway.

The reason why they don't include a smaller cd (it's not a minidisc because those are the ones with a plastic case protecting it) are because a large number of notebooks use slot loading combo- or superdrives which means you don't have a tray coming out of the side which knocks over your glass of wine, you just have a slot where you enter the disc, if you would put a smaller disc in there you might have to bring your notebook in for reapirs because it won't come out (believe me that there are plenty of people who make this dumb mistake, I've had to fish them out more than a 100 times when I did technical support at a apple reseller). Apple is however developing a sort of body you can temporarely attach to a smaller cd so it does fit into the slotdrives, I expect it to be released this year.

Because it is a sophisticated system with a lot of features you might not use at the beginning or even never, you need software to properly organize the content on the device. If you're not used to using iTunes it might be a pain in the ass at first, but once you get used to it you'll find that iTunes is a very easy to use application. If you put in a little effort I am sure you will change your mind and maybe even love itunes, and the iPod touch is just an amazing device, especially if you download the latest update which enables some cool new features you didn't have on the iPod before.

have fun with it, if you need help on something send me a PM, I can probably help out.
