As I was relaxing today watching some tv, I got a call from my ex's daughter (Vicky, the youngest...16 years old). Out of the blue she had decided to give me a call and chat for a while, nothing in particular, just talk.   She went on to talk about her school work and how her grades have improved  and some new friends that she had made.  She continued on to talk about how the new apartment she and her mom and sister was and that she will be volunteering at one of the local hospitals because she is interested in the medical field and on and on........What kind of choked me up a bit was when Vicky said she missed me and wished we were a family again and wished that her mom and I would get back together. It took a moment to compose myself as this statement hit me pretty hard and then I told her that no matter what had happened between her mother and I, I still loved her as my own daughter and that if she ever needed anything or needed someone to talk to, she could always turn to me.  I told her that in spite of what had happened I still have love in my heart for her mom.I could hear in her voice that she was crying at this point and I told her not to worry and to call me or stop by any time she wanted,  I'll always have time.......It's nice to see that I have made an impression on this young lady and makes me feel good inside that she looks upon me as her own father.... I'll always wish the best for her.
