Honestly, Thais notice color more than Caucasian Americans in general.

I realize that quite often when I am asked by Thais why Westerners prefer darker skinned Thai women... I seriously don't notice who is dark or light.

When I taught in the inner city in USA.... There wasn't a Caucasian student in my classroom. It made me feel as uneasy as hell when I had to designate the race of my students on some government form. I had to ask them what their race was because the designation meant nothing to me. I also really felt disturbed when I had to state my own race on job applications..... That is part of the reason I don't live there. I live in a colorblind world.

But I do discriminate according to smell.

McCain concession speech was pretty gracious and classy trying to encourage his supporters to support Obama and move forward, but the crowd really showed no class. I still think he's a respectable man.. with a bad campaign and bad choice of VP candidate.
