Last day
It was the last day at work today. Next week on Tuesday night I'll take the plane to Thailand. I could finish all my work, so my colleagues don't have too much trouble. Then I took the bus home and halfway I stepped of the bus because there's the hospital where my mother stays for a few months now. I go there twice a week and always after work, the other days a brother or sister visit her. It's always during eating time and I cut her bread, put meat or cheese on it and pour the coffee out. She doesn't know anymore how to do and what is what. Sometimes she recognises me, sometimes she's moody. It can change within a few minutes and one has to be careful with the words one uses. Before I left I walked to her room with her and said 'till next time'. She had a clear moment and said how embarrassing it was for her that we had to take care of her. I gave her a big hug and said: 'don't care. We love you, mum' (and that's an expression I don't use a lot). And I felt she hold me tighter. This holiday I'm not so excited to leave. I have kind of mixed feelings to go away. But I know my brothers and sisters will take care of her.
