Thai court rewards criminality

I guess Prue's journal has been locked, and perhaps for good reason after quoting this guy..

http://ratchasima.net/ But I'd like to point out huge holes in this lambasting of the justice system. The justice system here has been kicked around by the international press recently and even the most humble staff in my office seem to have a broader and more balanced perspective.  Often these critics think they know more than Thai people because they've read TKNS... big deal! There's almost nothing in that book that most Thai's don't already know, but more importantly most Thai people understand the context and relevance of such information, the foreign writers, bloggers and journalists clearly do not.Anyway.. huge gaping holes in the Thai court rewards criminality blog: It's called Rule of Lords and is meant to be supporting Rule Of Law, but then goes on to blame the judges for making a unanimous ruling according to the letter of the law. duh! It says that section 237 of the constitution is ridiculous.. hello! it's there for a very good reason.. preventing corrupt parties from controlling government... duh #2It says the people who shut down the airport were not treated by rule of law... erm, it takes a little longer than 5 days to put major cases through the justice system.. duh #3

It compares electoral law to a football match.. erm last time I checked running a country is not the same thing as kicking a ball. duh #4 anyway.. i could go on.. but it pisses me off that smart arsed "writers" with little actual understaning of what the hell is going on here are putting down people who are doing their best and trying to support "rule of law" and their country.

... and this will probably be deleted anyway. Smile

Yes, and this same person wrote a column in 2007 praising the UDD for playing a recorded conversation between two judges that had been illegally wire tapped.

What the judges said could have been interpreted more than one way, but he of course only looked at it from one perspective.

Nonetheless, it's really pathetic when a supposed upholder of human rights has no qualms about illegal wire tapping.

I guess if they are not on "your" side, then rights are suddenly not important.

Azwar Thi is a fraud.

Yes I agree - he hides behind a pen-name and then purports to be a journalist of some sort writing a regular column - and it's complete rubbish!

The claim that the Thai Courts have somehow rewarded the PAD by DOING THEIR JOB HONESTLY is just incredible...

I take it that he preferred that the criminals guilty of electoral fraud and therefore illegally taking governemnt of the country, should be allowed to continue.

This is typical of the support for the ousted Thaksin and cronies from TRT as well - they choose to ignore that criminal charges were brought, proven and a verdit put in place - rather that they want to "protect" the people of Thailand from a completely bloodless, and gladly received coup, which we all knew was the ONLY way to get rid of a person who was well on his way to a stranglehold over the rule of the coutry - a man and a party that demonstrated little concern nor respect for our monarch I might add.

Outsiders like this **** are great at beating up our country for their own gains, and ignoring the bits that inconveniently don't fit their preferred version of events.
