Thursday's 'Peace'

Thursday's Sketch: 'peace'I had intended on spending the duration of the flight to create a "Chatrarat- busting" masterpiece but instead I watched a movie and got distracted in conversation so ended up rushing this sketch over breakfast this morning to make the deadline :) My thoughts on peace is that it's a mythical sense of well being lost in time. For the greedy and selfish, there's no money to be made in 'Peace', Wars and Conflicts may cost tax payers billions of dollars, baht or euros but that money inevitably lines the pockets of corporate giants supporting the turmoil as there is very limited profit from 'Peace'.So my sketch is of the cliche "Dove of Peace"  - the unemployed, homeless dove which no longer has a place in the money hungry power mad world of today...

'peace'

(title by Iain_D)3082743802_6fa78c997f_o.jpgBy the way, the American fellow who distracted me on the plane was attempting to convince me that:"Gun laws in the US are too strict because in Switzerland even kids carry machine guns and they have one of the lowest crime rates globally..."I hadn't planned on debating Swiss gun legislation but I couldn't help engaging in this moronic debate. It eventually materialised that he had confused Switzerland (one of the most passive and non violent countries in the world) with Swaziland  - the home to more gun dealers than farmers!! This of course, stirred my French colleague to jump in and say "Switzerland...near Afghanistan???...like Iraq...???" followed by a lot of cussing in French Laughing

That's what i said...you are very good at something abstract :P

the drunk and homeless dove is very nice symbolic and irony. Very clever. (anyway, it's fat and cute!)

Personally, I give my vote for you :)

I love this.

To be fair to the guy on the plane with you... the US has nto started a war with either of those countries and therefore have not been on CNN daily.... so he can't actually be expected to know where they are....

Really enjoying these sketches and agree this 1 wins todays :)

Can anyone make suggestions??

If so I would like to suggest "Spunk" as in ""the courage to carry on; "he kept fighting on pure spunk"""
