Hangzhou Trip (III)
Nov?24 was my third day in Hangzhou, but first day at the office in Hangzhou branch. Driver came to pick my boss, his colleague (Antoine)Â and me around 8:15am at the hotel every morning. It took around +40 minutes from hotel to office.
It was nice to meet oversea colleagues in person indeed. Although I have brought my point & shoot camera with me almost everywhere I went but I didn?t take any pictures during the first few days. Because I didn?t want them to think how camera freak I am. Hehehe? I came along with my boss and his colleagues to have dinner after finished working every day and got back to hotel very late each night. I went to PROVENCE again to have dinner with my boss, Antoine and his girlfriend on Nov?26. The owner and chef were very friendly French guys. Nice place. Nice foods. Nice people. Nice service.
My boss told me the other day is that I am able to take half day either in the morning or afternoon of Nov?27 to take tour around Hangzhou. Since I knew I would get drunk after had few drinks at PROVENCE so I told my boss that I wanted to take half day in the morning to go to the West Lake (Xi Hu). And I did ask Antoine's girlfriend, her name is Lingling, to come along with me if she wants. It was kind and nice of her to be my guide to the West Lake.
Lingling came to meet me at hotel then we took public taxi in front of hotel to the West Lake which was not much far from hotel. It was very cold and windy. The West Lake was very big and beautiful indeed. We enjoyed the scenery while taxi drove by around the West Lake. I did ask driver to stop by along the street for taking some pictures of green tea and its flower.
We dropped at a green tea restaurant to have lunch and found this cute little boy was riding cool bike along the street. Lingling asked me whether I could eat originally Chinese countryside food. I have never tried but I think why not so Lingling did order it. I liked chicken soup the most and to be honest I am not a fan of this kind of hot green tea so I could only sip then took pictures of it instead. While I was waiting for foods there was one middle age Chinese woman walked toward me and talked to me in Chinese. Lingling told me that woman was a fortune-teller and if I interested then she will charge at RMB25 each. I think it was fun so I let her do the job and Lingling translated for me then it was Lingling turn right after I finished.
We got back to hotel around noon because my boss appointed company car to pick me up to go to the office at 1:30pm. My boss flew back to France that evening. To be continued...
