I have been to most Provinces in Thailand but never to Isaan. I have heard this is were to experience the most Thai culture.

Where to go??

I would love to go to Norng Khai because I can go to Laos and Vientiane?

Then again I have heard that Khon Khaen is the most exciting place to go for Nightlife (which I like too).

Isn't Udon Thani the biggest city in Pahk Isaan??

I was hoping to travel to Isaan for the first time and wanted to get some advice. I will probably have five days. Should I focus all 5 days one one province?? If so which one?

Should I spend a couple of days in multiple provinces??

Any ideas, advice or stories would be fantastic.............

I like the southern Isaan area with the old ruins of various khmer temples. Ubolratchathani, and Burirum have some fabulous places to visit, Burirum for temples and Ubol for her natural attractions. the only bad part is that you gotta drive quite some distance to visit the tourists sites.

I'm not much of a night life person so I can't have a say about it.

You should start from Nongkhai, then Udonthani (there are flights from BKK to Udon) or Udon ----. Nongkhai ----> Khonkaen -----> Roi Et (you shouldn't miss it!!!) -----> Ubon -----> Sisaket ------> Buriram, etc.
