Does anyone know about the Xbox 360?

My bf wants to know if he brings his American Xbox to Thailand, can he have it moded or something like that?

If he gets it moded in Thailand, can he play the copy games from Thailand on it in America?

Yes he can get it modded at Pantip. Not sure of the price now. I think he will have to make sure the games he brings home are NTSC or NTSC-U for he can play them in US.

My suggestion. Get it modded in US, and then just bring back the games he wants to play.

He should be spending that time with you, not playing games.

Asia and Uk use the Pal system. US and Canada. We use the NTSC system standard. So does not make a difference where he mods it. The chipset inside is still NTSC.

He must make sure all games he buys are NTSC, and NTSC-U, this will ensure they will work. As for modding it. Just check online, I'm sure there is lot's of people in US that can do it for him. Try like craigslist or Kijiji or something.

I think playing xbox can be a good thing, as it keeps some guys out of trouble. I think a girl would be much more happy knowing her guy is home playing video games, then out at some nite clubs with his single friends. Dont you agree?

But I think anything should be in moderation. Dont' be playing video games 24/7 and not spending time with your partner anymore. Always should be a balance for everything.

You can get the DVD firmware modded here for around 2,000 baht and then he will be able to use copied games. You can do it yourself as well with the right equipment. He will need to buy a power adaptor though as the US xbox is 110V input.

I prefer picking my games up on Ebay for cheap and getting them mailed here in batches. Microsoft do ban you from Live for using modded consoles though that hasn't been happening lately.

Same as Simmo. It's not a modchip. Just a firmware flash. If he gets it flashed, he'll be banned from Xbox Live as Microsoft immediately checks the firmware in the box through the net. My first Xbox was banned and I didn't even bother with my second one. (Both burned out. Red ring of death)
