The 1.2-megawatt La Ola Solar Farm is located on Lanai and will generate up to 30% of the island ́s peak electrical demand. Translated from Hawaiian, La Ola means "sun that gives life." The system will generate some 3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and will avoid more than 2,300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
