I just wrote my first 'blog' since the days of the 'journal' and whamo - when I clicked post now, all was lost as the browser returned to the log-in page! Ugh... don't I remember writing letters on TF only to have the log-in issue and a loss of my letter?

Ugh...sorry about that. For security purposes, you get logged out automatically after a certain period of time. You can always try refreshing another page in TF to make sure that you are still logged in.

Did you try clicking "back?" Sometimes your browser will store what you write (Google Chrome does this for me).
