I sort of got into this topic on another site and my feeling is that whether or not Zimmerman is a racist is not really an issue. The media and various interested parties have turned this into a cause but the real issue here is how do you get away with stalking someone and then shooting them in self-defense?

The whole idea of self-defense is that you are attempting to avoid confrontation initiated by someone else. Same idea behind the stand your ground law he is using as a defense. But the moment you disobey the police and involve yourself in a situation, you're no longer an innocent party. You're escalating the situation.
