Not sure this news is on headline in Thailand, Her Royal Highness Princess Sayako (Norinomiya) married with Mr.Kuroda, Tokyo metropolitan government employee, today.

As one of Japanese citizen, I would like to celebrate this happy event. On the other hand, many people is curious about the big change of her life.

1.She will be no more Royal Family and get surname for the first time in her life. Sayako Kuroda. (Royal Family don't have surname, Norinomiya is Royal Title)

2. She will have election franchise. (If she wants, she also has eligibility for election!)

3. She has to pay tax.

4. She has to pay national health insurance.

etc....

Easy to imagine, it's quite hard to get used to such drastic change of life, but I hope she can manage them.

Ladies, you are right! she will made it for the loved one.

bamboo5, sorry to hear that , but that's the reality of JP. Many shops, night clubs, apartment, massage shop (normal one), massage shop (special one) refuse "Gaijin" (foreigners).

1) As you know, most of us, JPs, can't speak English. (worst in Asia, i think)

2) Very few people can solve the problem when it happens with Gaijin.

3) Gaijin are not threaten by Yakuza in some case. (they have their own syndicate in Japan)

4) Even they refuse Gaijin, they can run a good business with local JPs. (if bars and night clubs in Bangkok don't allow farang, they will be crashed in a week.)
