Japan red cross send me the result of my blood test. (Free test for blood donor)

GPT 37, GOT 26, r-GTP 22, Cholesterol 191, ... etc

It seems that everything i s alright.

One thing good for blood donation is that you can check HIV test free. There was nothing mentioned about HIV on my result, that mean I'm negative in HIV. Yikes!!

How about in other countires? Do the Red Cross do the same service like this?

Hey, your GPT (ALT) is borderline high -- been hitting the sake too much lately ;)

Nice Cholesterol count though -- I'm up around 250, so I should actually be out shopping for caskets instead of writing in this journal.

Yep, Mike. My GPT is high, but it's much much better than before. Doctor advised me not to drink alchohol, but I can't drink it! (only a bit) Maybe I just had too much sweets... Oh, your Cholesterol is just on borderline!! (JP Red Cross says it should be 110 -250)

Shall we call ourselves as "Borderliners"? ha ha ha

Foxie, you are right! why don't you join?

They checked something else too of course.. but the main result to informed the donor is if they have those HIV and/or Virus B (I dont know what it called in Eng.. guess it's not the same as we say in Thai.. but is it understanable for what I just said? )

Here they guarantee sending testing result in a month, if not you're SAFE! I never have any feedback back from Red Cross yet since first donated till now.. I assummed I still clean.. :P

I'm not a Hep B/ C career, but I have life-time immunity against Hep A. Many of my colleague who have ever lived in developping countries have immunity from Hep A. because we shoot vaccination for Hep A/B rabbies and tetanus everytime before we leave home for more than 1 year. Validity of immunity varies from 1 year to 10 years, sometimes life time.
