Basic Rules.

1. BE HONEST!

If you are trying to find a nice American man to marry, you must be completely honest. Most Americans are very concerned about women on the internet lying to them. There many cheats and thieves out there. If you get caught telling a lie, no matter how small, most American men will simply never talk to you again.

2. NEVER, NEVER ASK FOR MONEY

The man talking to you knows that they are going to have to pay all the expenses for plane tickets and visas, if you decide to get together. This can easily come to $7,000 (US) or more. Do not mention it, at least until you have been talking for several weeks. You should have enough money to use the phone or internet and pay for your own things right now. NEVER ask for small amounts of money to pay for things now. The nice guy you have been talking to will drop you if you do.

3. SEX IS IMPORTANT

American men are NOT looking for a virgin. One of the reasons American men are looking for Asian girls is because they think they are sexy. Be prepared to discuss what you will and will not do, in detail. Are you wild? Shy? Adventurous? Be clear!

Americans expect to have sex before marriage. If this is not okay, say so at the beginning. You should stick with what you believe, but understand that no sex before marriage will make it much, much harder to find a guy.

4. TALK ABOUT YOURSELF

Do not worry about your English skills. Once you start communicate, you will get better with time. Most American speak only one language and are impressed by anyone who can speak and write in two or more.

5. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO

Most Americans are not rich. American is a nice place to live, but it is not what you see on TV. Do not expect to have a new car, or lots of clothes or money. Your guy will probably have one newer car, and a nice house, but not a lot of money. You may be expected to get a job in the US.

6. BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT

Do you want children? How many? When? Do you want a job, or do you want to stay home? Do you want to go to an American university? How often do you want to visit your home country? Do you expect to move other members of your family to America? Be clear about what you will want from your new life.
