Tsunami Warning System

According to the "headlines in Thailand" on this website, Thailand launched Tsunami Warning System.

I still remember when I spend my Christmas holidays in Thailand, and tried to book flight and hotel in Phuket but couldn't. So, I changed my plan to visit Chiangmai, then that unlucky incident ensured me from the historical disaster.

In Japan, we experience earthquake as daily event...ooops, I should say monthly. Each time it happens, TV, radio report immediately the scale of the earthquake as well as the risk of Tsunami. Even public transportation, department stores announce their custormer these information, within a minute after earthquake.

Japanese experience large earthquake (more than Magnitude 6) once in 2 years average. 1923, Kanto Dai Shinsai killed 140,000 people in Tokyo. And we had Tsunami disaster gerated at oposite side of Pacific ocean, ten thousand miles away! (Chile earthquake in '60 killed around 140 in Japan) Some of you may remember, quite large one in Osaka and Kobe in '95, which kills 6,400 people in a few minutes.

I hope that Warning System will work well in Thailand and there will be no more tragedy like that.

For those who lost their family or friends, may God comfort the great sorrow and sadness of you, your family and your friends.

i heard a public bar has name of Tsunami.

btw, i never heard Tsunami is pronounced correctly. "ts" sound is quite difficult not only for Thai but also for other nations. I think German can pronounce correctly, coz it's same pronounce with "z" for 'zehn'.
