So I picked our places to tour, but then i get a call out of the blue.

My gal tells me her boss will let her have 1 month off work only if she pays him.

I don't know how much yet, but he wants her to pay him to cover for her while she is gone.If she does not do that then he will just employ another, and she will lose her job.

Is this normal?

I know there is no representation for workers, job security, and very little vacation time given to Thais.

I don't know what he will want as I am a bit broke after buying a new car.

Wi is only a waitress in a resteraunt, makes 5000 baht + tips a month, but needs it to survive.

Is it fare for her boss to expect her to pay him to cover her shift while she goes on vacation so she will have a job to return to?

I would say just quit and find another when you get back, but work is hard to find on Korat.

By the way 4000 to 10,000 baht is a normal working wage for a woman in Korat since almost all working women are in the service/ retail industry there.

I just know I'm the one that will have to pay as always, and with the low budget this month I might have to cancel one of our trips :(

sure I can use my credit card, but Its only for emergencies like paying off the cops hahaha or that new v3 razor i want :)

"quit the job, n marry you :P "

haha I'm in no hurry to get married, i'm just learning her to see if we are compatable :)

"none in this planet .. employees have to pay company just to take dayoff

sillie cow!"

she can have a day off(she seems to call in sick a lot),but she wants a month off.

May85 met here a few times, and is from Korat city aswell, so she know the scoop :)
