FarangFarang
[h=2]Women 'foolish' for returning B2m[/h]NAKHON NAYOK - A woman and her daughter become the talk of the town after returning two million baht to the bank that was wrongly credited to their account, and people said they were foolish for being honest - including a bank official. Thanaporn Chamnipong and her daughter Yuvadee Chamnipong contacted the Bangkok Bank and returned the money after it mysteriously appeared in the mother’s account. According to reports, the two women were not only criticised by their neighbours as being “foolish†in returning the money, but were also blasted by a bank official who accused them of damaging the bank’s credibility. The women said they were not dissapointed that they could not keep the money, even though the family is in debt. They were happy to be able to do a good deed. It would have been wrong to keep money that did not belong to them. However, there was some good news. Suthipong Chulacharoen, inspector general of the Interior Ministry and former Nakhon Nayok governor, on Monday rewarded the two women with a payment of 20,000 baht in recognition of their honesty. He said the family could use the money to pay off their 10,000 baht debt. Mr Suthipong urged society to follow their example and to support people to do good deed and not criticise them. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/305241/mother-daughter-criticized-for-returning-two-million-bt
Andy_bkk
I know countries that say if you get money into your account that does not belong to you, you are not allowed to keep it and if you withdraw it and spend it then you will be punished by law. Pretty straightforward. And be sure that its not going to be unnoticed. Even 2 euros. So such news do not exist there.

If you knowingly withdraw or spend money that does not belong to you it is the same as theft.
