My sister just bought an Olympus u-mini digital S (5.0 megapixel) in Singapore. She was looking to buy a more expensive Canon ixus but the salesman recommended the Olympus as it has far better picture quality than anything in its class, and it is much cheaper (S$480). I tried it and I must admit that the picture is really sharp. The only drawback is that it ony has 2x optical zoom. It has a very feminine design, and would suit a girl. I would not recommend Sony digicams, which has below par picture quality.

I'm using a sony cybershot DCS - P2 at the moment.

Looking for a new cam. Would like something smaller.

Any reccomment?

Are you a sony or canon fan or something else?

Thanks in advance for any comments!

i bought the sony p200 some months ago and i am happy with it. if you don't mind sticking to sony this cam may be an option for you. it is smaller than the p2 and the picture quality is fine. only disadvantage is the higher price for the memory stick compared to whatever-cards the others are using. thanks to deester and magican i found that you can get a good price at panthip for the sticks though.

I have bought a Canon Digital Ixus 700 (7.0 megapixel) its really good quality with USB 2.0 for quick download, filming in 640x480 MPEG in really good quality. Have extra batteries and two packs of memories 512 SD to switch with. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/903/5/xx/1/1/criteresn.html

I recommend you to go to a shop where you can try these different cameras to see which one you really want...

I also bought an Korean MP3 player IAudio X5 http://eng.iaudio.com/ with a 30 gb harddisk so you can store your pics, movies (mostly music videos to listening and seeing) mp3 songs etc....works really great togheter! You can watch and put your movies to the tv in a hotel room with portable speakers to them :P
