smartass
came across the article "need a cybernanny?" http://www.ft.com/cms/s/49bd2858-70c6-11db-8e0b-0000779e2340.html According to US-based research, one in seven teenagers has met, face-to-face, total strangers they met online, 54 per cent have communicated with a stranger online, and 47 per cent have received pornographic e-mail... just got me wonder for those who have kids, since you're online too, how concerned are you about this matter? how do/will you handle this with your kids? for those who dont have a kid...what do you think in general? eagle
I think its important for a parent to have a real relationship with their kids so these types of things can be talked about with some honesty.
PosH
I have read a few about some girl read talk with some people about her problem ( that she probably couldn't talk with her family ) and wanting to kill herself . Then they told her to do it , end her life . And she did , the parents found out about the website after everything was too late to be fix . As a mother myself , I'd probably try to talk and be there to listen to him as much as I can . I feel like when you really listen to them they tend to believe that they can talk about whatever with you . ( Same as my mum used to be there for me all the time ) Seen a few parents that got annoy by there kids asking or talking too much about some silly thing or their friends from school . And ignore them .... That would just make them think what is the point of talking to their parents when they would act like they listening but actually ignoring them .... Mason doesn't watch any cartoon cause we alway out playing in central park . I'm sure I can talk to him about should or shouldn't , do or don't , right or wrong or be there to make sure he doesn't open some porn stuff from uncle Zeus ... Great post....it is about the relationship with your children. Keep it in the open......keep it honest From experience, it's the parents that are world's apart from their kids that have the rteal problems.
