tarquin
After being there during the tidal wave i have only just left for england. Anyone thinking of going or have already booked heres my advice. Patong many shops bars ,discos open beach fine also but in the water there still many bottles, umbrellas, debris. Kata and Karon beach nearly back to normal and still beautiful. Surin beach 20 minutes from Patong full of sunbeds umbrellas Even restaurants on beach ok. And I would go back to support all the local people .

0 khun_lung
There is a second disater looming and that's from all the cancellations along the Andaman coast. Travelers need to be informed that it's okay to go back to Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, etc. and so another thing all of us can do is try to get the word out, and I'm doing exactly that!
