Where to learn Thai in Sydney?

That USYD beginners course sounds decent value.. $235 for 20 hours.. .. approx. $12 p/h.

Another option to consider though (and I guess this probably applies to many other major cities throughout the world) is look at private tuition ads in the newspaper/or check the notice boards at shop windows in the downtown Campbell street area. I think you'll find a few notices for Thai lessons from Thai uni-students looking to make some pocket money abroad.

I found an ad and took a few private lessons like this some years back to help fill a two week trip home. We agreed on the UTS public library in Ultimo for the venue... nice quiet place for it and I paid about $20 for an hour and half or thereabouts. It was ok, I guess it depends on who and what and all that.. worth a try. It was probably just bad luck that my tutor was, to the point of distraction , exceptionally cute! Perhaps an ugly one is the way to go.

Thanks for all your advice! The USYD course sounds good. I'll look into that one...

@Zleepy: a trip down to 'Thainatown' is on the cards as well to see if there are any tuition ads.

@PiAnt: Indeed :D but also I'll be working over there in 6 months time and want to get a bit of a head start on the language...
