who is to blame ?

I would like to ask you or bring up a discussion on the ones to blame- the ones guilty of Santika disaster. When I watched the numerous videos on youtube, there were few firefighters in the front line. Behind them on the parking lot in front of the club there were a few fire engines, a lot of police in the first row, where they definitely dont belong as long as there is a fire. Lots of emergency cars in the backrows, whereas they belonged in the first row right behind the fire engines. Police and emergency sirens running all the time creating even more chaos among a confused bunch of people, no crisis management at the scene telling them to stop the sirens to calm down the situation, no floodights illuminating the scenery, and a few firemen desperately fighting versus a superior raging fire.

It seemed just as badly organised as the whole administrational security system at BKK city council. From my western point of view I need to ask - when will they ever learn from those disasters ? This has to do with unspeakable false pride or this "we do it our way - the Thai way". Lax laws and easy - going ? What else has it been ? Dont tell it is Thai Baht only..

This has all been covered in the original "Santika New Year Party Tragedy" thread. It was posted by more then one person that the disaster could help lead to better standards to protect people in the future.

In my opinion suffers for beloved tragedy should be shared with closed friends. Now, I don't know how many people will understand my message and how many will share my feeling... but here it is ... I am disgusted!! But at least I am sure it wont last too long

There are many on this site directly effected by the fires that need to vent or seek comfort or consolation. For others its another debate with a heavy heart for those involved. Again hopefully this leads to better safety standards for the future. If nothing else people might be looking at where they are in a crowded bar or club. As sad as the fire is, it is such events that lead to higher standards.

***************MOD NOTE***************************************

As Mr Eagle has rightly stated, this has been discussed on other Santika threads already. Do we really need another one?

Let's keep it simple Ladies and Gentlemen without the same threads all over the place.

Thread locked.
