Two hours with Superman

The five weeks holidy of me and my boyfriend officially started yesterday. After seeing us spending last weekend watching Smallvile one episode after another, I finally made us spent an afternoon outdoor. Being quite a big fan of Smallvile series at the moment, we would like to see how Superman Returns is like. I have to say we are very disappointed. Superman in the movie is nothing, but a pretty face (and strong, of course as he is superman). The movie did not give you enough background on ch

Afternoon Tea

My fiance likes to show me the english culture. Apart from getting drunk now and then, talking about chavs and Burberry, showing me what bullying is like, etc. - today he showed me the afternoon tea experience. We arrived at the Oriental about 3 o'clock, got to the Author's Lounge and ordered 2 sets of its traditional afternoon tea set. The Author's Lounge is lovely. I was thinking about using it for our wedding morning ceremony, so it was great to get the chance to see it as well. I think I wi

Older me

Another change on my biography. Now I am officially 27 years old. I have got a brandnew greeting from my boyfriend the first thing in the morning "happy birthday oldie piggy shorty" (he has got the piggy and shorty words to call me before. Yes that's great.Oh and to be fair, I call him piggy too. Honestly I do not feel any different. I am sure most of you don't as well. I mean how old you are is how you think of it (right?) I still dress like a 15 year-old girl anyway Basically today my boyf

Home again

I am finally home for good. This time there was no trouble with my luggages although I still managed to make my boyfriend wait at the meeting area for 2 hours due to delayed flight. It was nice to arrive home and see my favourite flowers all around the flat Besides having to write a 20,000 words dissertation, I would make myself be a little bit more busy during summer holiday redecorate the flat. I am setting up a study in the spare bedroom and turning the dining table that we currently use as

Photo shooting day

No no... I haven't become a photographer or a model yet (yes I secretly hope I will be, if only I am taller ) Today the business school arranged a group photo shooting for us. Not everyone turned up as many people have already left for summer holiday. Luckily I am still here, so it was a good chance to put my face on the school year book. It is a lovely day today, I do not want to sound too british but it is bloody hot indeed. I know I should not complain because we have just got the summer sun

My last week in Nottingham

Finally, it is time to leave. Because of my decision to do dissertation in Bangkok, my departure date is 3 months earlier than it is supposed to be. I am very happy about that because I really miss my boyfriend, family, friends, and life style back there. Although it is quite sad to think that I will not be here anymore. I will miss my flatmates. I am very lucky to be put in a flat with all these girls. We get along well. Here are my brief nottingham memoir. Trent Building - University Park Ca

Will their dream come true???

I have seen this advert everywhere. It makes me think sometimes about how much the brit hoping that they will win the world cup again after all these years. I feel for them...poor brit. It must be very frustrating thinking that they created many sports, but nowadays they are not the best in any. Oh except for curling (did they get the gold medal in the last winter olympic?) www.marsbelieve.com

Another nice guy

I can see the effort from him in making a message sound genuine, unfortunately I happened to be in the target group. Better luck next time! Your consideration

Just finished my first exam, did well, feel so good now. But this is not the end of it yet. I have another exam tomorrow afternoon. It is the most challenging subject as well (corporate strategy)...sigh...I have got tons of revision to do tonight. Anyway, that is not the main idea of this journal. Here is the real story. I have a habit of reading at the library. I don't know why, but I seems to read faster and getting stuffs out of what I read more if I do it at the library. It is not nicer th

It's a Lovely Day

Yes it is, and I cannot waste it with just laying down on my bed waiting for EastEnders (I am sick, not lazy ). I asked my flatmate to go window shopping in the city centre. It was nice even though it was very very crowded. I am used to many people in shoping centre in Thailand, but that was just too many. It reminded me of Christmas shopping week, that was just crazy. Now back to my room feeling sick again, but happier. They are building more flat for next year. Looks nicer than my one, Doh

Thai TV

Another thing I like about being here is that the quality of TV program is a lot better than what we get from free Thai tv program. There are many interesting ones - I always taking some time watching the british house of parliament meeting if it happens to be on tv. I am always fascinated by the way they debate, shout at each other or boo other side. It would not happen in Thailand. Channel 4 always have interesting, sometimes, controversial topics. Altough I still miss Thai TV. My boyfriend s

English Spring

I am in a surprisingly good mood. The weather is so nice. There are flowers everywhere on the way to uni. They are wild flower as well, not ones were put by human for decoration. So lovely. Today is the first day I wear short-sleeves top outside. Feel like walking in a big field with aircon. People are also happier, I think. There are smiles and laughters everywhere. Many students sitting around on the field enjoy the sun light. Bad part is that I have been going to bed late and getting up ear

Miss you already

Back to England last night. There are so many things worth nagging about in this trip, but I think talking about will not make anything better, only make me upset, so I will not mention it here for my on sake! First thing to be surprised this time in England was that there is still sunlight at 8 pm. I know maybe many of you are used to it,but that was my first experience of it. Very cool! Hopefully, this will be my last 2 months in Nottingham. I am going to do my dissertation in Thailand. Bac

Doesn't make sense

1. I am now sitting at computer desk with blanket wrap around me --> the aircon is too cold and I could never figured what the right temperature for me is. 2. I had lunch at MK suki alone, with a few waitresses&waiters around my table as it was not busy (I think they also found it weird to see someone dine alone and order that much), then this thai-farang little girl came in with her dad, suddenly she got all the attention, so I gave her tongue when she looked at me --> you little dev

Apple experience

I used to wonder why many people pay more for Apple product. I thought it is only because its product design. But today I found out that it could be its customer service. My ipod was broken on the day I left England. I dropped it many time before and that day was it last chance to survive. I got crying ipod on the screen, and due to Mr.stupid tourist who took my luggage from the airport, I have no lead to fix my ipod by myself. I took it too Apple center. Today, I went to pick it up and found

Bride to be

I had a girls day out with my friends yesterday. It was special because it's a shopping trip for wedding dress. One of them is getting married in July, I was a little surprised that until today she hasn't got a dress. Well, maybe I am over excited about it, but if I am going to have a wedding in 3 months, I am sure I would have most things ready. We went to a few wedding studios around Thonglor. We had a look at the wedding package they offer. The funniest part is looking at the sample of photo

Me as a sister

As I have been living away from my family since I was 12 years old, I think it has made me become too independent toward them. I only see my family members a few times a year, I haven't been home for more than 2 years and I never get homesick. I heard my mum mentioned about how she missed seeing me growing up regularly, I think my parents regret that they let me go to study that far at a very young age, but I think it was the right desicion. Apart from being quite independent, we do not have any

I want that one!

I was witness to a ridiculously expensive experience for the last 2 days. It started off at the point when my bf told me that his friend is in the mood of getting herself a new watch and we are going to accompany her around Gaysorn. I never shop there myself and giving the fact that everytime I am in there I get the feeling that I should not be there because I cannot afford anything, this should be a good experience. After a long while walking in and out watch shop she finally falled in love wi

Home Sweet Home

I got up early today. Hmm actually I have been getting up at a strange time due to my weird sleeping pattern since I am back from the UK. It is not jet lag because I was sleepy early, say 8 pm (1 pm in england) and then get up at 1 am (6 pm in england). So I think I am just lazy...and feel sleepy anytime during the day. We went to the londoner last night. I haven't been there for ages. It was very crowded, found out later that because it has a pub quiz night. Well, at least we got to sit at a c

My lost suitcase

It is great to be home! Couldn't find words to explain about how I feel everytime my foot step out of the plane at Don Muang airport. I have been home since Saturday night, but was not in the mood to write because somebody took my suitcase...I was kinda in a blank mood since, no energy, no motivation to do anything (no eating out or drinking). Thinking about essays I have to write, books I have to read for the exam, Cadbury creme eggs I promised to my boyfriend (he later told me that he promise

Normal Sunday

Not many life stories on TF journals recently. I am bored of (not so) funny forward mail messages in disguise of journals. Well as I stopped reading forward mail ages ago, why would I want to read them here? But guess that's my problem. Anyway as this is not good for a nosey person like me as I always like to read about other people's business. So I decided to write one for myself to stop my own curiousity and maybe satisfy some other people who think like me Bad weather recently in England

TF Party in Nottingham

Nah Joking! I am not yet successful in convincing people here to join TF. But as we are in international student community here, I suppose it is pretty much like TF. The day started with grey sky and rain shower, but later in the afternoon we could see sun light (still raining). On the way back to my flat I saw rainbow for the first time in England. The lillies I bought from Tesco last weekend just started to open. It is nice to back to a lovely and nice smell little room of mine. The Bla

How cool is that

Yes another happy story from me. Life is good, and I cannot help, but be very happy about it. I got a job offer from one of the big financial institution in Thailand. The postion will be in its management development program which will takes 2 years to finish. And after that I will be promoted to be one of its managers. Just want I wanted. This is great!!! Now the only thing I have to worry is to make sure I graduate with this master degree. Otherwise I will be stuck in England and I cannot st
