cycles

things seem to come go in cycles. for example, every december. for the last 15 or 20 years, december has been a bit of downer for me. No worries. This december should be much better thanks to Pong~! But usually, regardless of what had been going on, december and christmas just sucked!

friends come and go in cycles. I'm 39 years old and can count the number of true freinds I have on one hand. Sure, I know lots of people....hundreds.....and even more people seem to know me....But i seem to recycle my friends once every two years or so, only bothering to keep in touch with the best of the bunch.

money is up and down, job satisfaction is a roller coaster, emotional attachement is on and off, life is good and bad....and it always seems to either or.

Could 2006 be the year I finally decide to stop cycling? We'll see.

Welcome to the 40s bro. Cycle on!

As for friends, I find that a lot of guys living abroad tend to make new friends more out of convenience than anything else. As people living abroad who like to travel and drink beer, you have that in common, but when push comes to shove, real friends met abroad are few and far between.

Regarding christmas, I think it sucks for just about anybody who is unattached at the time (and even then it sucks being away from family). At least I can escape to a nice beach in Thailand and forget about it. Basically, anwhere away from my own home is a good place to pass the holidays.

@Sassy. Yes, I constantly experience growth and some decline. I have yet to discover maturity!
