Well, being an ambassador for my country and the Western World is certainly a full time job. It seems I have a great deal of ground to make up. It seems the tradition of becoming miraculously drunk, acting like a wally and engaging in other mindless activities that can only be described as shenanigans or tom-foolery is being kept well and truely alive here in Thailand by lots of Westerners, especially in the vicinity of Thanon Khao San. Anyway, my main reason for writing this journal is to thank everyone for their kind words in welcoming me to Thailand. I also would like to apologise for not being able to meet any of you  .. yet  Spent a few days in Bangkok - found a very dingy, sweaty gym with lots or rusty old weights and a blackened canvas in the ring which was perfect. Found my way to Chiang Rai on Friday (No 3 bus from Thanon Phra Athit, get off and Mo Chit and head to Bay 18 - if anyone needs to know )  with a trip to Phu Chi Fa imminent - if I can only remember how to get there  Feel freee to keep the votes, testis and messages coming even though I'm not around much these days  Cheers everyone, hope you are all well and happy. Be safe, Matt
