Sometimes as I sit in traffic, wander the streets of Bangkok or have a beer at a street-side bar my mind seems to generate questions .... I don't know if these are things others ask themselves when their far from home .... but I do ....  1)      I wonder if that was a cat or a rat ?2)      I wonder at what speed this taxi flies apart leaving my parts strewn all over the pavement ?3)      I wonder what that street vendor is BBQ’ing ?4)      I wonder where this taxi is taking me…have I been here before – is this really the way to the    airport/apartment/restaurant??5)      Ginger or Mary - Anne who was better looking on Gulligans Island ??6)      Do I really need to buy more polo shirts just because they are 2 bucks each ??7)      Does that pack of street dogs look viscous ??8)      Did I just ask in Thai for ice water or fish water ?? (nam pla vs. nam plo - careful)9)      Do you think that this is a real Rolex watch being sold for 8 bucks or is this one of those fakes I heard about ??10)  Was that a boy or a girl ??11)  Have I had enough beer not to be worried if this person seeking my attention is a guy or a girl ??12)  Should I take this he-she’s name and phone number and make sure I introduce he-she to unsuspecting brother, brother-in-law or university friends who may visit ??13)  Is it safe for that motorcycle to have 5 people riding it at once ??14)  What ever happened to Boy George ??15)  Do I keep telling people back home that it is hot and sunny and that I have to lay by a swimming pool/beach in order to cool down, or do I keep my mouth shut ??16)  Why is this bag of 45 fresh jumbo tiger shrimp the same price as one can of frozen concentrated lemonade?17)  Was buying a car in Bangkok really such a good idea ??18)  Should I ask my mother/sisters if they want me to buy them these Thai silk items or would that just be redundant?19)  How long will guests visiting my apartment believe that finding gecko’s in the kitchen is a good luck omen in Thailand ??20)  Now that I have lost some weight I wonder if it is OK for me to wear this translucent leopard skin speddo ??21)  Wow…I wonder how that girl got a tattoo there???22)  Should I bring my nephews to this bar and see this tattoo when they visit….and not tell their mother/father/grandparent ??23)  I wonder if this tuk tuk has brakes or am I hurtling to my early death ?24)  Do I write home and tell people I now have a tailor or will that sound like I have turned into a snooty expat ??

I have seen 5 people on a motorcycle on Rama 4 !! Really - I was amazed ... but I once saw "SIX" on a motorcycle in Phnom Penh !!! It was an entire family ... Mom, Dad and 4 Kids !!

I suspect that if ever I wore a Speedo I'd be dorted from Thailand ... and rightly soooooooooooooo ha ha ha
