"The latest ranking, by the eminent Economist Intelligence Unit, found that Vancouver, Canada tops 126 other destinations after assessing such factors as education, stability, culture, environment and health care."

According to the survey, these are the Top 10 "most livable" cities:

1. Vancouver

2. Melbourne

3. Vienna

4. Geneva

5. Perth

6. Adelaide

7. Sydney

8. Zurich

9. Toronto

10. Calgary (My hometown)

It seems that Canada and Australia are where its at. Agree or Disagree? Are there some glaring omissions?

Somtamcharlie: This list isn't of the Top 10 most exciting cities. However, I must agree that Vancouver has a lot to offer. There are mountains (i.e. good skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking), the ocean (i.e. diving, kayaking), good weed, and a laid back atmosphere.

Quaxo: The article states that the Economist Intelligence Unit is a research side of a magazine based in London, England. Here is the direct link:

The EIU is a UK based research group that is well respected in business consulting services. They do this analysis annually for corporate clients. The survey has been consistently ranking these citieis in the top 10 cities for many years. I know other surveys of similar criteria that arrive at similar conclusions, including the UNDP (United Nations Development Program). Some of the cities may be dull, but people live good lives there. I lived in 3 of these citiies and would agree, but i also would say they are a bit dull.
