GuangZhou: Ourouboros with Croc in the Center

Otherwise known as the failed search for 龙虎凤。(tiger fighting dragon)I'm in GuangZhou, China looking for interesting food.  So I asked my hotel for directions to a restaurant that serves 龙虎凤 - a mixture of cat and snake meat, among other things.  This is the name card of the restaurant they referred me to: alligaorRestaurant-1.jpg Alas, the restaurant they directed me had discontinued serving that dish. How regrettable. However, they did have a wide variety of seafood and reptiles for consumption, of which I was persuaded to combine two: Snake: alligaorRestaurant-2.jpgAnd Crocodile: alligatorMeat_small.jpgOh, and some brocoli and beer too. I initially felt that pictures of the food itself wouldn't really show anything interesting, but after consuming some alcohol and stuffing myself with crocodile and snake meat I changed my mind and created the following artistic composition. I call it: Ourouboros with Croc in the center: ourouborousWithCrocInTheCenter.jpgOurouboros you may recall, is the snake that eats itself. There's some mythological significance to that, but I've forgotten it. Suffice to say, it's a famous snake that eats it's own tail. For eternity. That piece of black stuff towards the meaty end of the snake is its skin. Quite tasty. Note that most of the pieces have been consumed. Alas, one can only eat so much snake and crocodile when dining alone. A fine meal altogether, if a bit rich. That layer of fat the croc has underneath his skin is quite filling.crocFullMeal.jpg  Oh, and the damage? Ouch. Expensive.  crocReciept.jpg  Even more painful given that I wasn't able to finish eating the food. But I didn't go to the restaurant for nourishment - I went to try something new.(except that they didn't have something new, so I ate croc and snake, both of which I've eaten before)

my favourite in GZ is the Italian restaurant opposite Garden Hotel - great Authentic Italian food and fantastic wine!!!

No snake - although I have eaten snake and crocodile (and also 'accidentally' dog) in Guangzhou/Foshan/Dongguan

@I_am_George>Was it 1.2 snakes or 1.2 crocodiles :P

1.2 jin of a snake. 1 jin is 1/2 kilogram. So, they were selling it by weight at 168RMB/jin. And croc tail for 198RMB/jin. They rest of the croc was only 168RMB/jin.
