This morning was a big day in the life of Ghee of TF.  He is now a proud property owner of his own space in the air (condominium)  here in Thailand. He acquired a lovely 72 square meter two bedroom abode on On Nut under 2km from the BTS.  I wanted to be there (the land office) for the exciting event which is recorded here.DSC03473Small.jpgwww.thailandfriends.com/ghee (file photo)prawed_map.jpgFirst I had to find my way to the correct land office where Ghee was waiting with the seller and the agent.DSC03494Small.jpgWhen all forms are in order, you just sit or stand around and wait to sign your name a on a lot of documents.  Bring a good book if you buy a condo. The ladies in the pic are the agent on the left and the seller on the right.  They were fighting over Ghee's affection.DSC03495Small.jpg

Ghee receiving the title deed for his condominium.  After this, something funny happened. The check was misplaced between some sheets of paper and Ghee thought the lady had picked it up. When she politely asked for her check, there was a mad scramble trying to find the check. It was very tense, but finally there was a happy ending but not in the massage sense of the word.DSC03496Small.jpgLook at the new expression on Ghee's face which exudes a sense of empowerment. DSC03497Small.jpg The title deed to the space in the air that foreigners are allowed to own without going through the convoluted process of starting some corporation.  Any one of you can get one of your own.  It is truly something to aspire to because.............DSC03500Small.jpg YOU GET TO SHOW OFF YOUR NAME IN THAI ON AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT!!And you also have a place to call your very own home in this lovely country.  Still the best place on earth to live when you take every factor into account and weigh it out.

Maximmm... your comment warrants a response: Seeing as over half of all condominium units in any given project must be owned by Thais, I think they will try to keep those spaces as viable habitations for as long as humanly possible using duct tape and superglue if necessary.
