Hi u guys,I'm not sure anyone got in this situation before... However, I'm in the serious problem now. On Friday I went to take the video about Golf at some golf club on Sukhumvit Rd. We got 2 Pro golfers from Japan and Dr.Golf. This video gonna show at the seminar at Conrad hotel on this Wednesday. The problem is disk error.... Well, I should listen to myself that time... that I shouldn't bring Sony handycam DVD for that job... nornally, i like DV cam cuz i can get the better quality... but about that video it was kinda hurry. DVD wasn't bad for that job i think. Everything was fine on that day, I checked the disks after that. Every disks was fine. I wanted to edit video at home on weekend but I went to the funeral at Koh Chang and etc. so i had no time to check them on my computer and edit them. Then this morning I found out this **** happen... I used 4 DVDs just only one was fine... the rest were disks error.I made a phone call to Sony Thai... and explain everything about it... She asked me  if I used Sony Disk? (with very nice voice) I said "no" then her voice changed... and said that she couldn't help or gave me any advice. WOW it's Sony!I don't know but I think atleast I use their camera ... should say something better than this...So the best way for me just tell the truth and say apologize the Japanese pro golfer... hrrrrr does anyone know how to say sorry in Japanese? don't know how to solve the problem and how to bring back the data on DVDs... Be honest I wanna cry now... never feel this way before. If anyone know good computer applications to help me out pls pls let me know Thks

Umm! Why dont you try to call Sony Thai again, Maybe you can talk with a new person and he/she can help you. Try it!

Sorry in Japanese ?? humm..Maybe "GOMEN NASAI"

You might try connecting your AV cable from the camera to your computer, and see if you can transfer that way. playing the disk in the camera to the computer, instead of playing it in your computer. Just a thought that might save you.

Neko_nat... >>> I asked my friend to call Sony already... the answer was the same... as RAW said she might lose her job if she give me advice.... Thks for japanese wording naa... atleast I have something to say to them tomorrow. hope they won't kill me.

Raw >>> I used mini DVD-R and now I think it's not reliable anymore... I TRUST DV cam only from now on....

You could try to play the disks in different DVD players in different computers of friends or in a computer shop and it might work in one of them. Sometimes the laser read/write unit is misaligned, especially in a cam, due to heat or a little too rough transportation.

rough transportation ? may be... cuz I had no time to bring all DVDs back to the office... i just took 'em to Koh Chang ... then took 'em back..

Next time find Thai or Farang Pro. Golfs, which you can say sorry to them directly ( no translator ).. okie ??

:-D ÅéÃàÅè¹

what kind of dvds does your player take -r or +r, had the same question at work from a guy, and that was the problem. i told him do copy the dvds to his comp with the fire wire and then burn them

rough transportation of the cam, not the DVDs. That can misallign the read/write laser unit.

But if you did let the DVDs sizzle in the sun on Koh Chang that might be the culprit. Heat and sun is bad for DVDs and CDs... Then you have hardly any chance to recover your movie...
